It's #TeacherFeature Tuesday and today we're featuring the lovely Lindsay Davis, a 3rd grade teacher at K.C. Ling Elementary.
We wanted you to get to know Mrs. Davis a little better, so here are some other fun facts about her:
• She simply adores history, even minoring in it in college.
• She has always wanted to be a teacher. When she first started college, she convinced herself that she wanted to be a nurse…but ended up returning to teaching.
• If she won the lottery and decided to give up teaching, she’d start a hobby farm. She has always wanted ducks, chickens, and bees. She’d quickly add goats to the mix.
• She hopes her students remember how she always took the time to be silly, and to remind them that they're loved and accepted. She said she also hopes they remember how her class really did feel like a family.
• We asked her if there was a quote or saying that she lives her life by, and she said: “What’s the best that can happen?”. She shared that while it’s easy to think of the worst thing that can happen and focus on that, when your mindset changes, it’s pretty fun to think about all the great things that could happen.

This week's #StaffSpotlight is on the wonderful Wendy Anderson, our HR Specialist in the district business office.
Other than being called “Wendy Roo” as a child, here are some fun nuggets of information you may not know about her:
• Her worst fashion decision was dying her hair black and wearing black lipstick the day before sophomore school pictures.
• The Disney character she relates to the most is Dory from Finding Nemo. Just keep swimming!
• Her favorite part of her job is getting to know and help new Hemlock Public School District employees.
• She wanted to be a veterinarian as a child, and her favorite animal just happens to be her English Bulldog.
• A quote she lives her life by is: “Be wise, Be kind, Be true”.

The Saginaw County Health Department will be hosting a Walk-In Vaccination Clinic on Thursday, November 2nd, from 12:30 until 3:30pm, at the Hemlock Senior Center on Elm Street in Hemlock.
Routine vaccinations that will be available include:
• Flu (6 months and older)
• Pneumonia (routine for 65+)
• COVID-19
Glucose and cholesterol screenings will also be offered.
