Hemlock, MI – Hemlock Public School District joins the nation focusing on reading and the importance of literacy this March.
In honor of National Reading Month, K.C. Ling and Hemlock Elementary kicked off the month with a long-awaited assembly.
MTSS literacy coach, Stephanie Dunton shared, “We were so excited to kick off reading month with the first assembly since the beginning of the pandemic. The students' energy was contagious. It was a great way to get the students excited about all the fun activities we have planned and share the love of reading.”
Hemlock Elementary and K.C. Ling Elementary have several activities centered around literacy this month from the assembly, rewards, the annual reading-month video, and so much more.
Principal Lori Gensch encouraged the love of reading by hosting a book fair for students. She shared, “We want to encourage reading this day and every day forward! Reading is an important gateway skill for all of our students.”
