Hemlock, MI – Hemlock Business Association has selected Kalena Kenny as the 2020 Educator of the Year. Kalena joins these previous honorees, Lousie Fleischmann, Dana Lockwood, Stephanie Dunton, and Matt Bauer. Her nomination form noted that Miss Kenny was a great teacher who is hardworking, empathetic, passionate, and devoted to her students.
Board President Dr. Katherine Ellison said, “There is no educator more deserving of this award than Miss Kenny, who has truly dedicated her life to her students. She works hard each day to make sure learning is fun for all, but she makes it look easy. We are proud to have her as a Hemlock Huskie.”
The Hemlock Business Association presented Miss Kenny her award at their annual Fall Harvest Dinner at The Maple Grille on Wednesday, September 23rd, with HBA President Dave Early presiding over the outdoor ceremony.
Superintendent Don Killingbeck noted, “We are fortunate to have such a dynamic and caring individual working at Hemlock Public School District. Kalena goes above and beyond, and it shows.”
