Hemlock High School is proud to recognize Senior Madelyn Wenzel as this week’s Student of the Week. Madelyn has shown exceptional dedication to her education and is an active participant in various opportunities both at Hemlock and beyond. Her enthusiasm for learning and commitment to her future make her a standout student in our school community. Madelyn expressed her appreciation for the wide range of experiences offered to students at Hemlock High School, saying, “The part I enjoy most about school is getting to experience so many different opportunities throughout school. Becoming involved in all of the opportunities presented to me has helped better prepare me for my future. It helped me to grow my understanding of what my potential is, by attending SCC nursing and being enrolled in Delta Early Middle College through Hemlock.” In addition to excelling academically, Madelyn credits the teachers at Hemlock for their positive influence on her journey. “One of my biggest inspirations at school has been all of the amazing teachers I have had throughout high school. One of these is Mrs. Bry—she is always smiling and strives for the best no matter the situation, demonstrating how important my education is.” Madelyn’s passion for her future and goal-driven mindset are evident in her daily work. “I have a deep passion for working towards my future and setting myself up for success every day,” she shared. Madelyn plans to pursue a degree in the medical field and has already laid the groundwork for this career path. “My current thoughts on a career path are to pursue a degree in the medical field. With this goal in mind, I plan to achieve these goals by continuing to pursue my education at Delta and then transferring to SVSU,” she explained. Hemlock High School congratulates Madelyn Wenzel on her outstanding achievements and is excited to see her continue to excel as she works toward her future goals. #pullthesled

This past weekend, our community came alive with vibrant energy for Sawdust Days! From Pom Pon and marching band dazzling the crowd, Gray Matter showing their impressive robot in the parade to the football players lending a hand at the "Touch a Truck" event. Dressed in vibrant uniforms and brimming with enthusiasm, they brought smiles to faces young and old. It was a wonderful time had by all!

Officer Randy!
On Monday at noon, I was made aware of a potential safety concern at the high school regarding comments a student may have made in class. As with any safety concern, I immediately investigated, which included involving our school resource officer (law enforcement) with the matter, spoke with multiple students nearby, consulted with the teacher, and determined there were no safety issues. However, the student could have chosen better words to express their frustration. Since then, I have received one communication from a parent and multiple rumors, including group texts spreading false information. If you see or know something, please speak directly to the person in charge—in this case, me. Many of you have my personal cell number; everyone has my email (green@hemlockps.com) or office phone (989.642.5287). Let’s work together to be part of the solution, not the problem. Sincerely, Prinipal Green.
