For senior, Jacob Esckilsen, the book on his Hemlock High School football career closed last month, but Jacob had a unique chance to add to his story-playing recently in the second annual Legacy Football High School Senior All-Star Game.
The Legacy All-Star Game is by âinvite onlyâ for football athletes all over the state of Michigan to showcase their talents.
A capacity crowd of about 1,300 jammed the Legacy Center Sports Complex in Brighton, MI. Most watched from bleachers or mezzanine porches, looking down onto the field. Numerous college scouts and coaches joined on the sidelines taking plenty of notes.
When the game (broadcasted live on Fox Sports Detroit) was over, with Team Legacy prevailing 12-6 over Team Legends, it was time for family and friends to join the players on the turf for one final time before players move onto their next academic and athletic careers.
Esckilsen shared, âThis was an awesome experience. I was surrounded by people who were just as big as me! It was very cool to play with some of the stateâs best players and to be nominated as one of the captainâs. It was an amazing day for me!â
