Hello, My name is Haley Watson and I am a Hemlock graduate of 2020 and a current Delta student. I wanted to share with you a little bit of my story. I started High School at Hemlock in the fall of 2016 and was super nervous. I was a freshman with so many bigger older kids and did not have many friends. I remember walking into Mrs. Woodcock's classroom and immediately feeling a sense of relief. Mrs. Woodcock was a familiar face and a comforting presence. Throughout the year she encouraged me to improve in my art and join the Art club. The art club did decorations for the paw ball, made a mural for reading month, and so many more fun things, and helped me come into my own.
Through the Art Club, I made friends, and they encouraged me to audition for the school musical. The Theater department immediately felt like home. Drama introduced me to so many new friends and felt like my own little theater family. The art club and the drama department really encouraged me to keep my grades up and come out of my shell as a student. To this day I am still grateful for Mrs. Woodcock, and the few different directors that have done shows with me here in Hemlock, and helped me become the successful delta student that I am now, and inspired me to want to become a teacher myself, so I can have the same positive impact that these teachers and faculty had on me.
