Hemlock High School is thrilled to announce Adelia Breternitz as this week’s Student of the Week! Adelia is a well-rounded student with a passion for creativity, teamwork, and community engagement.
When asked about her favorite part of the school day, Adelia shared, “I enjoy both the walk to and from the kindergarten and getting to hang out with the kids there. We have interesting conversations!” This thoughtful answer reflects Adelia’s love for connecting with younger students and making meaningful connections during her day.
Adelia’s biggest inspirations at school are her teachers. “All of my teachers, no doubt. I’ve learned so much about different types of working people from observing their individual ways of teaching and being passionate about something. I love seeing how you guys work together to make this school a functioning environment.” Her appreciation for the dedication and collaboration of her teachers is a testament to her insight and respect for education.
Adelia’s passion shines through in both theatre and wrestling—two activities that highlight her versatility and drive. “The two that come to mind are theatre and wrestling, which stinks because they happen at the same time, and I must divide my attention between the two. The thing I enjoy about them is the opportunity to perform unique exercises with your team of people, whether it’s doing flips on people in wrestling, or pretending to be a secret murderer in theatre.”
Looking toward her future, Adelia has big aspirations, though she’s still exploring exactly what path she wants to take. “As of now, I plan to take classes through Delta and possibly transfer to SVSU. I’m still deciding what exactly I want to do. Something flexible where I can work with a variety of people to make stuff for the masses to enjoy. Things like public arts come to mind. I plan to do whatever it takes to get to where I figure I want to be. I will settle for no less!”
Hemlock High School is proud to honor Adelia Breternitz for her creativity, dedication, and passion for learning. We look forward to watching her continue to pursue her goals and make an impact in the school community and beyond.
