Fire Safety

Hemlock Elementary School was excited to host the Richland Township Fire Department this week as part of Fire Prevention Week activities. The visit provided students with hands-on experiences and essential lessons about fire safety.

During the event, firefighters demonstrated their gear and explained its importance in keeping them safe during a fire. Students had the opportunity to explore the equipment up close and learn vital fire safety practices. One of the key highlights was learning how to safely crawl under smoke, an essential technique for escaping a fire safely.

Principal Cory Snider expressed the importance of these lessons, stating, "Our goal is to ensure that students not only have fun but also walk away with life-saving knowledge. The Richland Township Fire Department did a fantastic job engaging our students and reinforcing the importance of fire safety in a way that's both educational and memorable."

This visit was part of Hemlock Elementary's ongoing commitment to providing safety education to students in collaboration with local community organizations. The staff and students would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Richland Township Fire Department for their time, dedication, and service.
