Varsity Volleyball had a successful season with an overall record of 19-13-6. We ended up second place in our TVC blue conference with a record of 3-2. We played in multiple tournaments against Division1 and 2 schools. Our top tournament finish this year was Second Place at the “Spirit of St. Louis tournament. We received a buy in the first round of districts and played extremely well in the semi finals defeating host team Ithaca in three straight sets. Our energy and high level of play carried over to the district finals against Valley Lutheran. We played our best Volleyball of the year but fell short to lose the match in 4 sets. Hemlock played extremely hard and left nothing on the court. Well Done! Middle School Cross Country Recap From Coach Bebow: This was my first season as the head coach of the middle school cross country teams, and I am so proud of how these kids did this season. Every kid ran a personal best this season. The girls had a scoring team at every meet except for 1, and the boys had a scoring team at every meet except for 1. Kinley Gerow earned her way onto our HMS Top 10 Cross Country record board. She sits at #4 with a time of 13:30.1. Athletes earned a total of 33 medals throughout the 7 meets at which they could medal this season Girls team finished 2nd overall in the TVC Blue division; boys team finished 2nd overall in the TVC Blue division Wyatt Wenzel, Chase Barrigar = 1st Team TVC honors in blue division Ben Murphy, John Raths = 2nd Team TVC honors in blue division Kinley Gerow, Bailee Hayward = 1st Team TVC honors in blue division Hannah Wizner, Morgan Rames = 2nd Team TVC honors in blue division The girls team finished in 2nd place at the inaugural Bill Agresta Invite, taking home a plaque for their team Chase Barriagar = 3rd Team Overall TVC honors Kinley Gerow = 1st Team Overall TVC honors Bailey Hayward = 2nd Team Overall TVC honors Hannah Wizner = 3rd Team Overall TVC honors Girls team finished 5th overall in the TVC (out of 12) Boys team finished 6th overall in the TVC (out of 12) “We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” –Jesse Owens These kids were so driven this season, setting goals and reaching those goals throughout it. Once kids figured out that there is more to cross country than just running, they fell in love with this sport. Seeing them get excited at each practice that we did our meet recaps (they couldn't wait to see their splits and how much they had improved from their last personal/season best) was awesome. I'm excited to see where this program is heading because I really do believe the future is bright for our running programs here at Hemlock!

Freshman Volleyball Recap Season record- 9 losses, 1 win The Freshman put the work in at practice, both on and off the court, improving their skills daily. Sportsmanship Award- Natalie McQueen. Natalie showed up all summer long for open gyms and never missed a practice during the season. Natalie was Freshman's captain this year and wore that 'C' well. Being a setter is the hardest position on the team and Natalie continued to show up and push herself and her teammates every day. Team Accolades- Beating Carrollton, what a fun win this season! “There is no glory in practice, but without practice, there is no glory.”
