Hemlock Athletics is excited to welcome Coach Taylor Schumann to the Huskie pack this spring as our head girls varsity soccer coach. Coach Schumann brings eight years of coaching experience with organizations such as Auburn United, Bay Area Soccer Association (BASA), and he most recently served as the JV girls coach at Bay City Western High School. His experience spans coaching both boys and girls from grades K-12 in both school affiliated, recreational and travel organizations.

In his own words, Coach Schumann expresses, "My passion for coaching soccer is driven by the opportunities and life lessons that sports can provide, and I intend to create that environment for the members of the girls soccer team in Hemlock." He also acknowledges the strong foundation laid by Coach Wardlow, stating, "I look forward to building on that with this year's team and into the future."

District athletic director Angela Pohl shared her enthusiasm, stating, "It has been a long process to get to this point but I am thrilled to be in a position to unleash Coach Schumann so that he can bring his experience, excitement, and commitment to the Hemlock girls soccer program."  Hemlock graduated some key players last year but a strong core remains with optimism about welcoming new players, including freshmen to the program.

Coach Schumann credits his fiancé Kylie and his sons, Leland and Roman, for their endless support, enabling him to pursue his dream of being a high school soccer coach.
