We are incredibly grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers following yesterday’s incident at the construction site of our new high school gymnasium. Through what some might call a series of fortunate events or even miracles, things appear to be turning out much more positively than they could have. While it’s not our place to share personal medical details, we can confirm that the individual is recovering in the hospital. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the quick-thinking coworkers on-site, our construction management team, Police Chief Jack Doyle, Officer Randy, the Richland Township Fire Department, and the entire team of first responders, including the Medivac crew and hospital staff, for their rapid and effective response. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact my office at 989.642.5282. Thank you all for your continued support. Sincerely, Don Killingbeck Jr., Ed.D. In a world where you can be anything, be KIND | Today, some of our students and staff wore pink in honor of World Kindness Day. 💕 Mrs. Klopf's and Mrs. Hammis' classes celebrated by creating and exchanging handmade bookmarks, spreading a little extra joy and kindness to each other. A small act of kindness can make a big impact. #HemlockHuskies #Huskietastic #HemlockStrong #WorldKindnessDay

This morning, there was an accident involving a member of our construction crew that required immediate medical attention. Emergency services responded quickly, and the individual was transported via helicopter to the hospital for further care. We want to ensure you know that no students were involved, and school operations were not impacted. The safety of our students, staff, and everyone on campus remains our top priority, and we share that commitment with our construction partners. The injured worker is in our constant thoughts and prayers. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to my office at 989.642.5282. Thank you for your continued support. Sincerely, Don Killingbeck Jr., Ed.D., Superintendent #HemlockHuskies #HemlockStrong

Hemlock alumni Jennifer Julien visited Mrs. Lockwood's and Mr. Slates' classes today to inspire students with her #PullTheSled story of grit, determination, and effective communication. As a first-generation college graduate, Jennifer shared how intention and being open to opportunities have helped her and her husband, co-founders of Braveworks up in Houghton, build 9 successful companies across real estate, hospitality, construction, and more. What an amazing example of being #LifeReadyHPSD. #HemlockHuskies #Huskietastic #HemlockStrong #Since1863
