Hemlock Public School District took the next step on Thursday, February 8th, 2018 with a team of approximately thirty parents, community members, and staff members to start developing the district’s next strategic plan. The district is devoted to renewing their commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
The district developed a strategic plan in the 2013-14 school year that has led to some amazing results with stronger partnerships, improved programming, and increased service to families and our community.
Superintendent Don Killingbeck said, “It is never too late to get involved in the process of helping the district grow in service to students, families, and the community.”
The updated strategic plan will focus on the following areas:
- Mission, Vision, & Core Values
- Teaching & Learning
- Human Resources
- Business Operations
- Marketing
- Building & Grounds
Part of the strategic planning process the district will be reflecting on will be the following questions:
- Where have we been?
- Where are we?
- Where do we want to go?
Board of Education President Katherine Ellison said, “The strategic planning meetings are a great way for community members to get involved in their district. Hopefully, more people join us at the next meeting, so we have the best input possible.”
The next strategic planning meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 1st at 6 p.m. at the board office, located at 200 Wilson Street.
