Hemlock High School’s Chief Science Officer’s Kassie and Isabelle are making a positive impact on the environment through their latest initiative—battery recycling! The CSOs have set up a collection program at the high school during January, encouraging students and staff to properly dispose of used batteries instead of throwing them away.
The 800 batteries collected were transported to Resourceful Recycling in Chesaning, ensuring they are processed safely and sustainably. This action plan not only helps reduce hazardous waste but also promotes responsible recycling practices within the community.
