Hilary House is a proud Hemlock High School alumna with deep roots in the community. She is the mother of two daughters: Gabi, a recent Hemlock graduate from the Class of 2024 who is now pursuing her 13th year through the Early Middle College (EMC) program, and Holly, a current sophomore at Hemlock High School, continuing the family’s strong ties to the district. After earning her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University, Hilary embarked on a career with the Michigan State Police (MSP). Following her retirement from MSP, she earned her real estate license and joined the National Association of Realtors.
Hilary has always been dedicated to serving her community. In addition to her work in law enforcement, she played an active role on the Great Lakes Bay Region C.A.N. Council (Child Abuse and Neglect), where she served as the law enforcement liaison. Her commitment to ensuring the well-being of children in the region has been a driving force throughout her career.
Now, as a member of the school board, Hilary is focused on giving back to the community in another significant way. “Serving on the school board is my way of giving back to the community and supporting our children,” Hilary says. She takes immense pride in the fact that Hemlock is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Reflecting on the challenges the district faces, Hilary acknowledges that “our single greatest challenge is meeting the ever-changing needs of students that have evolved since the pandemic.”
With a heart for service and a deep connection to the community, Hilary continues to work hard to ensure that Hemlock remains a thriving environment for children and families alike.
