Human Pat

Meet Pat Watson, the heart and soul of our Hemlock community. You might know her as the friendly face behind the wheel with the "P Dubs Uber" sticker on her car, always ready to give someone a lift. Or perhaps you recognize her better dressed as the Grinch, Easter Bunny, or Santa, bringing holiday magic to life.

Pat's philosophy is uncomplicated: “I love doing simple things for others that bring them joy and make them smile,” she says with a twinkle in her eye. This sentiment drives everything she does, from keeping our mini food pantry stocked to running her annual cereal drive for God's Helping Hands.

A Hemlock native since first grade and a proud Hemlock High School graduate of the class of 1973, Pat's roots run deep. She spent 25 years driving our school buses, turning each ride into a mini adventure with art contests and sing-alongs. Even in retirement, Pat’s dedication hasn’t wavered. She’s the admin of the Hemlock and Neighbors Facebook page, the driving force behind the 'Stuff a Bus' project, and a beloved organizer of monthly bingos at Pine Haven Assisted Living.

For over 20 years, Pat has also been the creative spirit decorating Hemlock for Sawdust Days each fall. She’s a constant presence, visiting with widows and shut-ins, bringing them flowers and a bit of cheer. Married to her farming sweetheart Ed for 50 years, Pat's commitment to family and community is truly inspiring.

Hemlock is a brighter, more joyful place because of Pat Watson. We are endlessly grateful for her kindness and dedication, and for keeping us #HometownHemlockProud.
